“Modelling trade-offs and synergies among ecosystem services”

Applications are invited for a postdoctoral position at the French National Institute for Agricultural Research (INRA

The successful candidate will be part of an interdisciplinary research project.
TRUSTEE // is a European research project aimed at disentangling the complex relationships between economic development and ecosystem services at different spatial scales.
The objective of the postdoc project is to synthesize existing data on the relationships among multiple ecosystem services in a gradient of agroecosystems (France), and evaluate consequence of different scenarios of land use change for ecosystem service hotspots. In interaction with economists from INRA CESAER, the postdoc will analyze the causal factors of ecosystem service bundles. In interaction with a PhD student at INRA-SADAPT/ MNHN-CESCO, the postdoc will explore relationships between bird biodiversity and ecosystem services across agroecosystems. Approach is also shared with a postdoc (MNHN-CESCO) working at the European level. Publications will target high-impact scientific journals.

Postdoc candidates with a PhD degree in ecology. Suitable candidates combine a proven ability in data analysis, GIS and model development with a keen interest in agroecosystems. Candidates should demonstrate capabilities to work in multidisciplinary team. Good communication and collaborative skills are required, including excellent command of English in writing and speaking.

Conditions of employment
A 18 month Postdoc position at INRA-SADAPT in Paris.
The post-doc will be part of the European project team of TRUSTEE (Towards RUral Synergies and Trade-offs between Economic development and Ecosystem services).
Salary indication depending on experience and qualification: between € 2.400 and € 2.600€,- gross per month based on a fulltime employment’. The position is available from January 2015.
